Being 25 years old

Alas, this is the day I turned 25 years old and this is the day that I had a lot of birthday greetings and wishes from families and friends. I did get an advance post from Zamilah and when it stroke midnight here in Melbourne, things started to get a bit noisy.

I was on Guild Wars playing with Al and trying to gather people to play gvg last night because Oni requested for one. Zamil got on first then came Oni and Abu bu. Al, Oni, Abu bu and I were on mumble. All of the sudden at midnight, my phone alarm went on and I was surprised because I thought I had set my alarm 6am for today but it was an alarm reminding me it was my birthday! WHO SET IT?!

Then when I told them, Abu bu told me to ignore and listen to something he wanted to play which was the Brunei News theme song and said "Berita jam 12tghmlm waktu Melbourne". Then, they UNEXPECTEDLY sang 'Happy Birthday" to me and I was soo speechless and smiling too wide. Well, most of the sing were done by Abu bu (lead singer) and Al. Oni had his mic muted! xD Zamil sang on the chat channel where he wasn't on mumble. U guys are LEGEN....wait for it.....DARY!!!

Then all of the sudden my phone rang and someone started to sing the birthday song (AGAIN)... I was like "Oh No! It can be...*thinks*"..." and when he finished singing and asked me "You know who's this?" and I was stunned and speechless that my thoughts where gone and found myself dumbstruck! It was BEN!!! All the way from MALAYSIA! I was like WHAT?! He sound so different when he's soo hyper! He continued on MSN and he was with Jason. You two are very sweet!!!

So back on playing Guild Wars. I told them about Ben calling which is a SURPRISING thing to do. Then we started to play gvg with random skill sets which made me finally realized it was ALL a hoax about Oni wanting to play gvg. It was just a diversion to get me online!!

Thank God I didnt canceled that night or there won't be any singing from those guys! Then all of a sudden, another called but I couldnt figure out who the person was because he hanged up. Then the same person called after a few minutes and sang happy birthday. I was like "Is it a birthday song marahton or something!?".

Coincidentally, I heard the same voice singing in mumble!!! IT WAS ABU BU!! He called me up on my phone AND sang...AGAIN! I could not stop laughing and thought "Onoz! I'm going to be hearing birthday songs!" Much appreaciated the singers (callers)!!

I also received msn and text messages greetings from my galfriends!!! I LOVE U GALS! Bestest ever! Can't wait to spend time!

So that happened at midnight onwards. Then slept in at 2:30am and woke up at 6:45 and went back to sleep again! Woke up at 9am and I found out my keycard which I placed outside my kitchen counter was gone. I assumed the cleaners where in the apartment in the morning but nothing seemed cleaned. So took my shower and dress up and went down to the Reception.

So Emily (the reception) gave me a new card (wish she included a birthday present xD) and I went up to my apartment. Not long after that the cleaners came in and I asked them did they came in my apartment before and they said no. Now I'm like 'question mark' in my head of who had taken my keycard.

While the cleaners were doing their stuff, I was on Facebook receiving massive greetings and wishes from family and friends. I returned their greetings with appreciation and at the same time I was feeling like "I can't wait to see these people again!". I used to never miss home but now the lonliness is starting to fill up.

Then I remember Neeza's gift to me which I opened as promised on my birthday. I read the card and I remembered that she wrote for people and it was kind of last minute. I was one of them to receive it. Haha! Thank you Nee!

After the cleaners left, I quickly made lunch and watch T.V waiting for the time to pass. Finishing lunch, I prepared to go down to Safeway to buy tissues for my sister (Saf-thank you for the greetings!) who claimed these tissues aren't available in Brunei. On the way to Safeway, I bumped into Nasser, Merah and Omar's brother Ali. They started to sing the birthday song BUT only the first verse.

For a moment there, i thought I was going to have another birthday song ON THE STREET?!...Thank god it didn't happened or else people will be looking. Haha! However it questioned me on how did Nasser know? I even receive a text message from B yesterday to come over to pick Neeza's stuff later on tonight which I asked Neeza about it and she was clueless. So I'm sensing something fishy. Surprise or no surprise, we'll just have to wait and see!

Anyway got back from Safeway, the door lock inspector came and was out in a jiffy. Some inspection that was but I'm ok with that. Haha.

Now I'm waiting for more greetings so that I could thank them. I'm joyous about receiving these greetings but turning 25 years old. That's a different story.

As I am already 25 years old, I feel like it's not time to turn 25 just yet (I'm sure some of you have the same feeling that its not time to turn into a certain age) as I still have many things that I want to accomplish. This is why 2009 is the year to making it happen!

It's not that I'm trying to deny that I'm getting old....(maybe just abit) but I fear that life is going to deplete soon and hence missing the things I want and ought to do. Funny how times fly and just by looking at my watch its a minute to 4pm. Now it's 4pm. haha!

Ending my single life and pledging it to someone I love will *insya-Allah* happen sooner or later but it's just a matter of time and to start my lifestyle after being an undergraduate is something I'll be expecting to be able to achieve next year.

It seems now that age does really matter to me. Yes, I used to quote age is just a number and as long as your spirit makes you younger there's nothing to worry but just go-with-the-flow! I just don't feel it this year xD

Sweet! Anyway, I still have another 8hrs more till it ends. I have still some packing to do left and be going out with Kevser tomorrow for last shopping.

I'll be going to the airport this Sunday and arriving back in Brunei on Monday. I can't wait to dine outside and meet up with some friends. Hopefully I'll make that happen!

Edit: I found out from BEN that JASON was the one who sang for me xD awww!!! No wonder sooo cheery and joyfulness! Ben posted:

"Hahahaha! Jason sang to you! Not me! xD We were supposed to, but you couldn't hear. Plus everyone at the restaurant thought that we were crazy singing over " Happy Birthday " over the phone. xD"

Welcome 2009

Yes everyone giving a 2009 blog and so am I.

We've enter the year seeing fireworks exploding up in the night and many cheered. Everyone may have different feel of how they had entered the new year but for me, I'm blessed that I'm still alive and that I may have lost a friend last year, I'll still always cherish the moments always.

New Year's eve was the day I wanted to stay in and play Guild Wars as I experience last year's New Year's eve celebration but Lawrence insisted me to come and join that. I must admit, this was better than last year because of the weather which was cooler and the place we went to was at Docklands.

This time I spent the eve with Lawrence, Andrew, Nasser, Mary, May, Omar, Ali, B, Sergio and Sergio's housemates. We went to Spencer street to meet up B and Sergio. When we got there we saw people dressed in white for the White Sensation New Year dance at Telstra Dome. I think you can youtube search on it

Nasser kept making jokes of other people who kept crossing our path and he had a light sabre fight with this passerby that it broke. I'll get the video from Lawrence ASAP. So from Spencer street we walked all the way to the Waterfront. The night was getting colder and after the firework display.....we ate ICECREAMS! but I had a milkshake instead. So inevitably we were all shaking of coldness after filling our stomach up.

We stood watching the live performance on the stage and the crowd are very energetic especially the kid who dance on stage. We basically didnt do anything but trying to find B at James Squire club but we didnt end up joining her. So we headed back home but before that there was this local asking us to join them in a picture and they even ask these chinese boys who just got their McDs to jump in the picture.

The crowd was i think 20 people in the picture. Unfortunately we didn't take the picture with our cameras. So got back to Spencer street station and took the train back to Glenferrie. They were all hungry and headed to McD while I look so dead, headed back home. Finally ended the night messaging Masez to greet her for her birthday.

Again, Happy Birthday Mas! *hugs*

Now, 1st January is coming to an end in about 42minutes (Melbourne time) but as soon as I finish typing this I think it'll be a few minutes to midnight or over midnight. I spent the day at home after waking up at 2:30pm but went over to B's place to pick up the stuff Neeza left for me as Neeza left Melbourne for good and graduated. Happy for her achievements
Isa was over too.

Came back and did the sorting of the stuffs. I then watch tv and made myself fried noodles for dinner. On tv I was watching a historical show which was based on "Numbers". How they started to exist. The show was fitted with abit of sense of humour which is why i stayed glued watching it and not changing to other channels.

Anyway time flies and I decided to make jelly and used rockmelons inside it. SUCCESS! I used to get my jello from Lia or Neeza because they actively make them but since they aren't here anymore, so what the heck, made them on my own.

I'll be returning to Brunei on the 12th and will only have little time to do last minute shopping which I'll do next week. I'm home alone in my apartment as Laleh had finished her contract on 28th December and Chrissy is back in China for holiday. I do like the quietness and that I managed to clean the remains of messes left by *tut*.

At the moment I'm playing Guild Wars for Wintersday event (getting candy canes and presents) as well as chatting with Kilz. She arrived Brunei yesterday.

2009 theme: This is my Year. Why? Hopefully I'll be graduating and turning 25 years old is some how like a capstone/milestone of my life. ROFL sounds cheesy but yeah. This is the year that I want things to happen in relations of me trying to make change.
